A Plane Carrying The Presidents of Poland, Lech Kaczynski Crashed

Poland President Plane Crashed

A plane carrying the Presidents of Poland, Lech Kaczynski crashed near an airport in Russia. A number of Russian media reported that 87 people were killed in the crash. But not yet known whether there are passengers who survived.

Ill-fated aircraft were reported approaching the airport in the western city of Smolensk in the fall.

Kaczynsky, like VIVAnews quotes from the AP, 10 April 2010, intends to visit the Smolensk to commemorate the 70 year tragedy of Katyn massacre, when the Russian army killed thousands of Polish citizens.

According to the Russian emergencies ministry news agency Itar-Tass, the plane fell at 10:56 pm Moscow time, or at 13:56 pm.

Irina Andrianova ministry spokesman said that the plane was flying from Moscow to the direction of Smolensk, but he has not obtained detailed information on who those victims who perished.

Polish foreign ministry itself states that the president and first lady it was in the plane.
